About Davilla

From an early age, art was a basic foundation of Davilla's home. She grew up in a military family and was fortunate to travel and live throughout the world. During that time, Davilla was exposed to some of the world's greatest art as she visited museums, gardens, and architectural structures in countries such as France, Germany, Holland, and Japan. Her home was filled with fine antiques and artworks that were collected by her mother from Europe and the Orient during those years.

After retiring from a 31-year career as a teacher, Davilla was able to express that love of art and Nature's extraordinary beauty as a watercolorist. Her unique style has been developed through the extensive study of color, design, and composition from professional artists' publications, as well as attendance at art workshops presented by nationally known artists.

Besides for paintings that can be found in private collections, Davilla is currently creating illustrations for a soon-to-be published book of vignettes about the ocean entitled Whispers of the Sea.

Davilla lives in East Texas on a lake where Nature's beauty abounds and presents unlimited subjects to paint.
